What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website sends to your browser and that are stored on your device. They allow the browser to be recognised on later visits and are commonly used to keep a session open, remember preferences or analyse use of the site.
Under the applicable regulations, cookies are classified by who sets them (first-party or third-party), how long they last (session or persistent) and what they do (technical, personalisation, analytics, advertising or behavioural advertising).
Cookies we use on this site
This website is static and informative. We do not use first-party cookies for analytics, advertising, personalisation or to profile visitors. Nor do we collect persistent identifiers that would let us recognise you between visits.
Aggregate traffic measurement is carried out through the hosting provider's analytics service (Cloudflare Web Analytics), which does not set cookies in the browser and works with anonymised metrics on the server side.
The hosting provider (Cloudflare) may set cookies in your browser that are strictly necessary to keep the service secure and mitigate abusive use. The most common one is:
-
__cf_bm(Cloudflare Bot Management): distinguishes legitimate traffic from automated bots. Technical session cookie, lasting roughly 30 minutes. Set by cloudflare.com when serving pages.
In certain circumstances (for example, after an anti-bot challenge), Cloudflare may set additional cookies such as cf_clearance, also for technical security purposes. You can find the details in the Cloudflare cookies documentation.
Third-party cookies
Some parts of the website load content hosted on third-party services. When this happens, those third parties may set their own cookies, subject to their respective policies:
- OpenStreetMap. The map showing the accommodation's location is loaded from openstreetmap.org. If you interact with the map, OpenStreetMap may record the visit and set its own cookies. More information in the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
- Booking engine (Guesty, coming soon). Once the booking engine is in place, using it will take you to the provider's platform, which will have its own cookies and privacy policy. Your booking is not handled on this site.
We do not use social media cookies, personalised advertising cookies or remarketing cookies.
Purposes
The cookies that may be set while you browse currently serve strictly technical purposes:
- Keep the site running, secure and available.
- Distinguish legitimate traffic from abusive automated traffic and protect the website against attacks.
What we do not do. We do not use cookies to profile you commercially, target advertising or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.
Legal basis and consent
Cookies strictly necessary to provide a service requested by the user or to keep the site secure are exempt from the obligation to obtain consent, under article 22.2 of the LSSI-CE and the guidelines of the European Data Protection Board. This includes the Cloudflare technical cookies described above.
If in the future we add cookies that are not strictly necessary (for example, detailed analytics with identifiers, personalisation tools or third-party integrations not limited to a technical purpose), we will ask for your consent beforehand through a consent mechanism (banner or equivalent tool), which you will be able to accept, refuse or configure granularly at any time.
How to manage cookies
You can allow, block or delete cookies installed on your device from the settings of the browser you are using. Each browser offers its own tools:
Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the site works or its security measures. Most browsers let you block third-party cookies while keeping technical ones active, offering a reasonable balance between privacy and functionality.
Cookies and personal data
Some cookies may process personal data (for example, the IP address). Their processing is governed by the Privacy policy, which sets out the purposes, legal bases, retention periods, data processors and the rights you can exercise at any time.
Changes to this policy
If the way we use cookies changes (for example, when we add a new tool), we will update this document and indicate the new revision date in the header. The version currently in force is always the one published on this page.
For any query about the use of cookies on this website, you can write to us at reservas@rocacollection.com. To exercise your data protection rights, see the relevant section in the Privacy policy.
